Day 1

Nairobi to Mount Kenya – Naromoru Gate to Met Station

Your 5-Day Mount Kenya Climb Safari begins with early morning pickup from your hotel in Nairobi followed by a scenic drive north through central Kenya toward the foothills of Mount Kenya.

Upon arrival at Naromoru Gate, meet your mountain guides, porters, and trekking team before receiving a full climb briefing and final equipment check before starting the adventure.

Begin your trek through dense montane forest and bamboo vegetation as the trail gradually ascends deeper into Mount Kenya National Park.

The route offers beautiful scenery, fresh mountain air, and occasional wildlife sightings including monkeys and forest birds before reaching Met Station where you settle in for dinner and overnight while preparing for higher altitude trekking tomorrow.

Day 2

Met Station to Mackinder’s Camp – Moorland Trekking

After breakfast, begin a challenging ascent leaving the forest zone behind and entering Mount Kenya’s spectacular moorland ecosystem.

The vegetation gradually changes into giant lobelias, senecio plants, open valleys, and rocky alpine landscapes as altitude steadily increases throughout the day.

Continue trekking through the famous vertical bog section before eventually reaching Mackinder’s Camp located high in the alpine zone beneath the towering peaks of Batian and Nelion.

The dramatic scenery becomes increasingly spectacular as you prepare physically and mentally for tomorrow’s summit attempt while spending the night acclimatizing at high altitude.

Day 3

Point Lenana Summit – Sirimon Route Descent to Old Moses Camp

Today begins very early around midnight as you begin the most demanding section of the expedition.

Trek carefully under headlamp light while steadily ascending rocky high-altitude terrain toward Point Lenana, the trekking summit of Mount Kenya.

The challenging climb rewards you with one of East Africa’s most unforgettable sunrise experiences above the clouds.

After celebrating your summit achievement at 4,985 meters, begin descending through spectacular glacial valleys and dramatic alpine landscapes toward Austrian Hut and eventually continue down the scenic Sirimon Route toward Old Moses Camp.

This is the most physically demanding day of the expedition but also the most rewarding as you complete the summit challenge.

Day 4

Old Moses Camp – Sirimon Route Scenic Exploration

After yesterday’s summit challenge, enjoy a more relaxed trekking day while descending gradually through the scenic Sirimon side of Mount Kenya.

This route is famous for its broad valleys, spectacular mountain panoramas, unique alpine vegetation, and excellent photography opportunities as you slowly lose altitude.

Take time to appreciate the stunning landscapes surrounding Mount Kenya while observing endemic plant species, mountain streams, and changing ecosystems as the descent becomes progressively easier.

Arrive at camp and enjoy a well-deserved evening resting after the summit achievement while sharing stories of the expedition.

Day 5

Sirimon Gate to Nairobi – End of Expedition

After breakfast, complete your final descent through lower mountain slopes toward Sirimon Gate where your trekking expedition officially concludes.

The final section offers beautiful forest scenery and a final opportunity to enjoy Mount Kenya’s incredible ecosystem before leaving the mountain behind.

Upon arrival at Sirimon Gate, meet your transfer driver and begin your journey back to Nairobi.

Arrive later in the afternoon where you will be dropped at your hotel or airport, marking the successful completion of your unforgettable Mount Kenya climbing adventure.
